Artist Statement:

A first generation Italian-American, Arcangela Balest grew up in Pittsburgh and received her education at the

University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.  She conducted her residency at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and

a fellowship at Magee-Women’s Hospital. Dr. Balest is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics,

General Pediatrics, and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.  She currently works as a neonatologist

at Allegheny General Hospital, an accredited Level III Intensive Care Nursery,

which is equipped to provide the highest level of comprehensive intensive care for newborns.

Her commitment to children makes a lifetime of difference to premature infants in our area.
